Maths Shoot Out
Maths warm-ups don't have to be complicated to get everyone involved! Bring a little friendly competition into the classroom with Maths Shootout - a quick, no-prep game that gets students thinking on their feet and putting their mental maths skills to the test!
How It Works
-
Choose two students to stand back-to-back at the front of the classroom.
-
Call out a maths question based on whatever topic you're currently covering. Both students must work out the answer in their heads without turning around.
-
Once a student thinks they have the answer, they turn around and call it out.
-
The first student to give the correct answer wins the round and stays at the front. The other student steps aside, and a new challenger takes their place.
Keep the game going for a set number of rounds or see how many challengers one student can beat before being knocked off the top spot!
