This set of cards is the perfect tool for grouping students in your classroom! Simply print enough cards for the number of students in your class, and you are ready to go!

How does it work?

Enough coloured cards are provided for 30 students (with 3 cards in 10 colours: pink, yellow, green, blue, orange, purple, brown, rust, white and grey).

However, you also have the option of printing the rainbow cards if you have more than 30 students, or if you have an odd number of students. Students who receive a rainbow card have the option of choosing which group they join, as they are an ‘extra.’

For example, if you have 31 students, print all coloured cards plus 1 rainbow card. If you then hand out all the cards and call for groups of 3, there would be 10 groups of 3, with one student left holding a rainbow card. This student would then have the choice of which group to join. You can print as many rainbow cards as you need!

⇒ To group students in pairs, have them find another student with the same emoji face.

⇒ To group your students in threes, have them find students with the same coloured background.

⇒ To group your students in fours, group 2 pairs together.

⇒ To group your students in five, have them find students with the same number printed in the top corner.

Maths Warm Up: Stand Up Sit Down

Maths Warm Up: Stand Up Sit Down

Stand Up, Sit Down is one of those quick, no-prep maths games I always come back to in my classroom. It gets students out of their seats, thinking fast, and making decisions as they decide whether to stand or sit based on maths statements I give them. It is simple, energetic, and a great way to build critical thinking and engagement from the very start of the lesson.
Maths Warm Up: Last Person Standing

Maths Warm Up: Last Person Standing

Last Person Standing is one of those quick, no-prep maths games I like to pull out when I want my class instantly focused and thinking. It’s a fast-paced place value challenge where students make number decisions, stay alert, and try to be the last one still in the game.
Maths Warm-Up: The Hot Seat

Maths Warm-Up: The Hot Seat

The Hot Seat is one of my favourite quick maths classroom games. One student sits in the “hot seat” and asks questions to figure out a hidden number or answer, while the class responds only with yes, no, or maybe, which gives clues to help solve the problem under time pressure. It’s simple, engaging, and builds reasoning fast.
